The 2023-2024 Reflections Program is a wrap!

We are so grateful for our Los Perales 2023-2024 Reflections participants! Many thanks to all the artistic students and their supportive families for their participation. We received 16 entries representing art in several forms: photography, literature, dance, visual arts and music composition.

We are pleased to announce all submitted art from Los Perales students will be showcased at the Walnut Creek Intermediate Library on Saturday, December 2 from 11am-2pm.

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, boosting student confidence and success in the arts and in life. This 50+ year-old program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 nationwide create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.

2023-24 REFLECTIONS THEME

This year's student-selected theme is "I AM HOPEFUL BECAUSE ... " Students can enter from one to all six categories of arts disciplines: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Unleash your creative talent and show us how or why you are hopeful, whether through dance, a short film, a poem or story, an original song, a photo or visual work of art.

Visit the California Parent Teacher Association (CAPTA) website for a glimpse of the art produced by last year's winners and specific requirements and rules.
