The 2022-2023 Reflections Program is a wrap!

Many kudos to all the Panthers who participated in the 2022 Reflections Art Program this year! The Las Trampas Creek Council Reflections Showcase was held December 4, 2022 at the Walnut Creek Intermediate School Library. Students from elementary and middle schools in Moraga, Lafayette and Walnut Creek interpreted the theme “Show Your Voice” to create inspiring masterpieces across six categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts. Eighteen LP Panthers participated, and six of those entries moved forward in the competition to be included in the 32nd District PTA's Reflection Showcase and will be judged by the 32nd District PTA in January 2023.

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, boosting student confidence and success in the arts and in life. This 50+ year-old program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 nationwide create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.

2022-23 Reflections theme

The theme this year is "SHOW YOUR VOICE!" Reflections promotes student participation in one or all six arts disciplines: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. We encourage all LP students to participate and tell your story through dance, a short film, a poem or story, an original song, a photo or visual work of art. Unleash your creative talent and show us who you are! Visit the California Parent Teacher Association (CAPTA) website for a glimpse of the art produced by former winners and specific requirements and rules.

Every participating student will be recognized by the LP PTA for their participation in the program, with the opportunity for state and national awards and recognition through CAPTA and the national PTA.
