2023-2024 Reflections Program Award Winners

Congratulations to all the talented Panthers who took part in the 2023-2024 Reflections Art Program! The Las Trampas Creek Council Reflections Showcase, which took place on December 2, 2023, at the Walnut Creek Intermediate School Library, was a remarkable event. It featured the outstanding submissions of students from Moraga, Lafayette, and Walnut Creek schools, spanning from Kindergarten to 12th grade. These young artists creatively interpreted the theme "I Have Hope Because..." and brought it to life across six diverse categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and visual arts.

We're proud of our sixteen LP Panthers who participated, and we're thrilled to announce that four of these entries have advanced to the next level of competition. Best of luck to our talented Panthers as they continue to shine in the world of art and creativity! Participants advancing to 32nd District competition level:

  • Literature: Malaika W., "Hope," Grade 3
  • Music Composition: Haru C., "The Brighter World," Grade 2
  • Photography: Niam K., "Life in Space," Grade 2
  • Visual Arts: Neo X., "Sadness to Hopeful," Grade 2

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, boosting student confidence and success in the arts and in life. This 50+ year-old program helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life. Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 nationwide create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme.
